The Swampscott 7th- and 8th-grade team topped Pentucket to win the tournament title.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — A Swampscott girls soccer team earned a little sweet revenge on its way to the Essex County Youth Soccer Association championship this spring.
The Swampscott eighth-grade girls town team, made of seventh- and eighth-graders, persevered through a strange season that began with players social distancing and wearing masks, and "ended with smiles, cheers and hugs."
The team went 5-1-2 in the regular season with the lone loss coming to Pentucket.
