Swampscott Man Plays In Charity Soccer Game

The game helped raise more than $320,000 for a soccer-based youth program.

BOSTON, MA – Swampscott’s Vlad Kravets, Client Service Associate at Acadian Asset Management, laced up his cleats and stepped out onto the turf at Gillette Stadium to play in the SCORES Cup corporate soccer tournament on July 15 as part of the State Street Channel team, helping to raise $320,000 for America SCORES Boston.

New England Revolution President Brian Bilello and player Scotty Caldwell joined in the festivities, which were presided over by SCORES Boston executive director John Maconga.

The day-long SCORES Cup is Boston’s largest corporate charity soccer tournament and one of the largest in the United States. Joining Vlad were 600 Boston-area business leaders who went head to head on Major League Soccer regulation fields at Gillette. The tournament benefited America SCORES Boston’s mission and the more than 1,400 under-resourced youth who participate in America SCORES Boston’s innovative programming which blends soccer, academic support and enrichment programs to improve students' health, academic engagement and global citizenship.
