Swampscott Native Wins USTFCCCA All-Region Honor
Katherine Pitman, the nation's top pole vaulter, was recognized for her national Division III record with a mark of 4.25 meters.
From Ithaca College: Ithaca College's Katherine Pitman, a Swampscott native, recieved a USTFCCCA Atlantic All-Region award on March 6. To be named all-region, an athlete must either be ranked in the top-5 of an individual event in the region according to final TFRRS data or be part of a top-3 relay team.
Pitman, the nation's top pole vaulter, was recognized for her national Division III record with a mark of 4.25 meters (13' 11.25") at the Empire 8 Conference Championships in mid-February.
Overall, IC's men's and women's track and field teams earned a combined 17 accolades.
