Swampscott Racial Justice Virtual Candidate Debate

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott candidates will face the public and answer a variety of questions on racism and what they will do to support "marginalized voices" if elected Sunday night.

The Candidate Forum on Racial Justice will be held virtually at 7 p.m. through the Swampscott Antiracism Caucus.

"We envision Swampscott as a welcoming town for all," the caucus said in announcing the forum. "We wish to live in a community that is thoughtful, intentional and actively working against discrimination and racism in all of its forms."

Candidates will be asked to speak specifically about their work "dismantling racism in our town" and what they will do, if elected, to promote marginalized voices. The remaining time will be used for a question-and-answer period for those in contested races.

Early voting has already begun in the annual town election that will hold in-person voting on April 27.
