Swampscott Restaurant Closes After 17 Years

The family-owned restuarnt specialized in homemade pastaand other Italian dishes.

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Caffe Paolina, a family-owned Italian restaurant on Humphrey Street in Swampscott, closed permanently Sunday, according to a note of the business's Website.

"After 17 wonderful years, Caffe Paolina will be closing its doors on Sunday, February 9th. We are very grateful to everyone who has supported us," owners Paolina and Vincenzo Lepore said in the note. "Thank you for your kind patronage and support to Caffe’ Paolina in its past years of operation."

The note went on to say a new restaurant would take over the 36-seat space at 645 Humphrey Street. The new business will honor unused Caffe Paolina gift certificates.
