Swampscott Students Honored At Assumption, Lehigh, URI, Vermont

SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Rebecca Price, of Swampscott, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics degree with a major in economics and finance with Highest Honors from Lehigh University in spring 2021.

Price also earned Dean's List status, which is awarded to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses in the spring 2021 semester.

During Commencement ceremonies on May 24, Lehigh University conferred 1,295 Bachelor's degrees, 549 Master's degrees and 104 Doctoral degrees.

Rachael Rooklin, of Swampscott, was named to the Spring 2021 Dean's List at Roger Williams University. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

Rooklin also graduated with a B.A. in political science in May as part of the Class of 2021.

The University of Rhode Island said six Swampscott students made the Spring 2021 Dean's List.

The honorees were: Bridget Cullinane, Isabel Lanzilli, Matt Mauriello, A.J. Venuti, Hannah Vernava and Rachel Weiss.

To be included on the Dean's List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.

Stephen Hopkins, of Swampscott, graduated from Plymouth State University during its 150th Anniversary Commencement Ceremony on May 8, 2021. Hopkins received a Bachelor of Science in Management.

Hopkins was among more than 670 Class of 2021 students who received degrees.

More than 2,100 undergraduate students at Coastal Carolina University were named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2021 semester, including Andrew Dove, a marketing major from Swampscott.

Students who make the Dean's List have achieved a grade point average between 3.5-3.99 for the semester.

Swampscott resident Allyson Hartmann was named to the Dean's List at James Madison University for the spring 2021 semester. Students who earn dean's list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899. Hartmann is majoring in media arts and design.

Lauren Barbuzzi, of Swampscott, was named to the Lasell University Dean's List for their academic performance in the Spring 2021 semester.

To be named to the Dean's List, Lasell students must complete at least 12 credits as a full-time student and achieve a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

To be named to the Dean's List at the University of Vermont, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

Swampscott students who earned that honor at UVM were Abigail Bruhm, Mia Freddo, Evan Lippman, Liam O'Brien and Greta Wright.

Assumption University said Giana Faia, of Swampscott, Class of 2021, was named to the University's Dean's List for the spring 2021 semester.

Students named to the Dean's List must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester to be included on the prestigious list, which is announced at the completion of the fall and spring semesters.

"Giana is one of the many students who demonstrated incredible resiliency amid the challenges posed by COVID-19 during the previous academic year and remained committed to their programs of study," said Assumption University President Francesco C. Cesareo, Ph.D. "Assumption is proud of these students for excelling in the classroom as they immersed themselves in the University's liberal arts curriculum, steeped in the Catholic intellectual tradition, and their majors preparing them for meaningful lives and careers after graduation."

Ashley Marston and Darian Wulf, both of Swampscott, were named to the spring 2021 Dean's List at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.
