Swampscott Town Hall Memorial Ceremony Planned For Sunday
The ceremony will include placards honoring state service members who have given their lives for their country since Sept. 11, 2001.
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott Town Hall will be the scene this weekend for placards honoring Massachusetts servicemembers who have lost their lives over the past 20 years as well as wreaths to honor each branch of service as part of a Memorial Day celebration.
The Military Friends Foundation will hold its "Field of Heroes" tribute as it joins Swampscott town officials for the ceremony to honor the fallen Sunday at 1 p.m.
Placards with photos will honor the state servicemembers who have died since Sept. 11, 2001, as well as the wreaths to honor all 37,000 Massachusetts servicemembers who have died since the Revolutionary War.

"It is essential that we continue to honor the memories of those we have lost, and to let their families know that we will never forget the service and sacrifice of their fallen hero," said Sarah Sweeney, Executive Director of the Military Friends Foundation and army wife.
The display will be available for the public to view through Memorial Day.
