Swampscott Weathers Hercules Moving Into Day 2

The town received about 14 inches of snow from Hercules, said DPW Director Gino Cresta.

Crews plowed through the night and are in clean-up mode this morning, he said.

The roads are in decent shape, he said.

The town did not have any problems with coastal flooding at the last high tide, before midnight.

Now they will monitor the next one, at noon Friday, the director said.

Water and sewer lines held up fine, he said.

The fire department responded to two accidents on Thursday but did not have any storm related calls in the overnight hours, according to department reports yesterday and this morning. 

The storm is winding down.

Looking ahead, even colder temperatures and another high tide bear monitoring.
