Swampscott's Got Talent This Sunday

Come see your fellow community members perform at Swampscott High School on Sunday, April 3.

Swampscott, MA - In the time honored tradition of musical entertainment everywhere, the town of Swampscott will be putting on a show on Sunday afternoon.

This year's Swamspcott's Got Talent show takes place on Sunday, April 3 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Swampscott High School. Tickets are $7 at the door, and proceeds benefit the Swampscott High School Class of 2018.

Swampscott's Got Talent was originally run by the recreation department several years ago. Since 2014, parent Glenn Kessler has been among the parents making sure the show runs smoothly.

"It's a good community event with Swampscott residents who have talent putting it on display for other Swampscott residents," said Kessler.

The talent extends far beyond high school students. There will be younger kids, high school staff members, and community leaders strutting their stuff this year.

Kessler will also be on the stage several times, once with his rock band, Gerry and the Atrics, and another time for a musical duet.

Essex County Clerk of Courts Tom Driscoll will be the emcee for this year's event.

Tickets are only $7 and are available at the door on Sunday. Kessler said one of the goals of the event is to provide an affordable afternoon of entertainment for the community. Refreshments will also be available during the show.

"My goal is to have everyone's face hurt from smiling so much by the time they leave here," said Kessler.
