Trailer Out for Matt Damon-Produced Movie Shot on North Shore
"Manchester by the Sea," starring Casey Affleck and produced by Matt Damon, was shot on the North Shore; it will be released this fall.
MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA, MA — A Matt Damon-produced movie starring Casey Affleck and shot on the North shore earlier this year is earning rave reviews. "Manchester by the Sea" was shot last year in several North Shore communities, including its namesake Manchester-by-the-Sea.
The film premiered to rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival and was purchased by Amazon Studios; it's set for general release Nov. 18.
The film was written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan and stars Affleck, Michelle Williams, Kyle Chandler, and Lucas Hedges. Affleck plays Lee, who is made the legal guardian of his dead brother's son.

"Lee returns to his hometown and has to deal with both his separated wife Randi (Michelle Williams) and the North Shore community," the film's plot reads.
