Troop 53 Attends Fall Camporee

BSA Troop 53 Activities

On October 25 and 26, Swampscott Boy Scout Troop 53 attended the West Wind District Fall Camporee. The scouts took part in many skill based competitions against other local troops, highlighted by the trebuchet building competition. The scouts took 2nd place in the trebuchet launching competition and also claimed 2nd place in the overall standings.

About Troop 53:

We serve boys between the ages of 11 and 17 with interests in all-weather camping, hiking, backpacking, fishing, rock climbing, canoeing, whitewater rafting and community service while teaching the program’s tenets of character, citizenship and personal fitness.

Want to get in on on fun? Boys and their parents are welcome to visit any troop meeting. Troop 53 meets Thursdays from 7:15-8:30 P.M. (when there is public school) in St. John’s church basement. The Boy Scouts and Troop 53 are not affiliated with a particular religion.
