BSA Troop 53 recently participated in the “Scouting For Food” community service project. In early December, the scouts went out to their neighbors and placed door hangers asking that a non-perishable donation be left on their porch. A couple of days later, the scouts went out and collected the food that had been left out for them. When they were done, the scouts collected an impressive 23 bags of food.
On December 11, the scouts presented the donation to St. John’s Church food pantry. They also helped sort and store the donations.
The scouts wish to thank all their friends and neighbors for their generous donations and for making the service project a success.
