What to Know About Swampscott and Marblehead Thanksgiving Football
The fun starts 10 a.m. Thursday

What will be new when Swampscott varsity football resumes its longstanding rivalry against Marblehead Thursday at MHS Piper Field at 10 a.m.?
They will be playing on artifical turf. The teams have been battling on Thanksgiving for more than a century but until now the battle has been on grass.
It's the last game of the season for both teams and will decide who has bragging rights until the next time they cross paths.
Swampscott won the last Thanksgiving meeting, but Marblehead (8-2) won the game against the Big Blue earlier this year defeating Swampscott (4-6) 35-7.
Tickets for the annual Thanksgiving Day game will be on sale for 90 minutes on Wednesday, Nov. 27, from 9 am to 10:30 am (in the Swampscott High School front lobby). Prices are $7 for adults and $5 for students.
Tickets purchased at the gate on the day of the game will be $10 for everyone.
