Ayles, Samson Honored As 'Hats Off' Recipients
Students honored at March Rotary Club luncheon.

Seniors Mark Ayles and Nichaela Samson have been honored as the March winners of the Tewksbury High 'Hats Off' Awards.
The students were honored for their acadamic achievement and extra-curricular involvement at a recent Tewksbury Rotary Club luncheon at the Tewksbury Country Club.
Mark is the son of Kendra McCauley. He has been recognized on the Principal's List and has achieved Honor Roll Status several times.

He has given more than 200 hours of volunteer service with the Danvers Police Department, helping with the Town of Danvers for any public event with security, traffic control, etc.
Mark is employed at Barron's Country Store in Andover but he has also worked with Joe Dermody and the Tewksbury High Media Department for two years.

Nominating faculty member, Fran DeLucia said, "Mark has been a very competent history intern and has helped with computer problems due to new software by sharing with colleagues."
Nominating faculty member Joe Dermody said, "Mark is an all-around A+ student and person."
Mark intends to enlist in the Air Force after graduation and plans to pursue a career in law enforcement with the State Police.
Nicaela is the son of Diane and Joseph Samson. She is enrolled in a variety of honors and advanced placement classes, has maintained honor roll status throughout high school, has been named to the Principal's List and has received numerous Renaissance red card awards.
Nicaela keeps herself busy with many extra curricular activities. She is a Peer Mediator, member of DECA, member of ECHO club, member of Class Council, member of Mock Trial, member of Student Council and a competitive equestrian.
She is also a member of the winter and spring track teams and the gymnastics team.
"My dad, Joseph Samson passed away on the first day of my junior year of high school," said Nicaela. "Despite this loss, my father has turned into my inspiration and I know he would be proud of me."
Nicaela serves as a volunteer at Tewksbury Victory Gardens, helping eager gardeners to plant and grow vegetables. She also works as a barrista at Perfecto's and as a cutomer service clerk at Market Basket.
Nominating faculty member, Dustine Puma said, "Nicole is a phenomenal student who under many struggles and personal tragedies has persevered. Her success has been a testament to her work ethic and devotion to her education."
