Barbecue Restaurant Coming To Tewksbury
The owners are planning to offer Memphis-style barbecue, where "the star of the show...will always be the oinker."

TEWKSBURY, MA -- A restaurant promising to offer "authentic Memphis barbecue and Southern hospitality" is coming to Tewksbury. The owners of Bobby & Jack's Memphis Barbecue have begun renovations of a space at 1777 Main Street that was previously occupied by Mehfil Indian Cuisine.
Memphis barbecue is a style that showcases pork and a spicy and sweet, tomato-based barbecue sauce. The restaurant is also planning a full menu of traditional barbecue side dishes, ranging from greens to mac-and-cheese and cornbread.
"Every region and state known for their smoked-meat goodness has their own way of doing things. For example, Texas is all about the brisket, the East Coast states prefer their meat sliced and tangy," the restaurant said on its Facebook page. "But here in the 901, we tend to lean more towards the pig, specifically pulled pork and a big ‘ole rack of ribs. Of course, we don’t discriminate. You will find lots of beef, sausage and all the chicken staples -- especially wings. But the star of the show around these parts will always be the oinker."
