UPDATED: Serious Car Crash on Whipple Road Tuesday Afternoon

TEWKSBURY, MA - Officials are on the scene of a car crash on Whipple Road Tuesday afternoon and part of the road is closed. 

Initial reports said the vehicle may have crashed into a home, but it's now confirmed it struck a pole.

Reports of the crash came in just before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and say there was an individual possibly trapped inside the vehicle. Medflight was being contacted, but due to the weather both Medflight and Lifeflight are not flying. One person was reportedly transported by ambulance. 

Whipple Road is closed by French Street due to a downed pole and wire from the accident.
