Dana A. Nickerson, 53

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, son.

Dana A. Nickerson, age 53, died  Tuesday, April 2, surrounded by his beloved family, following a courageous four month battle with cancer.  He was the husband of Linda L. (Yandle) Nickerson, with whom he had celebrated a 32nd wedding anniversary this past February 7th.

Dana was born in Lowell, August 10, 1959, one of three children of Roland and Barbara (Francis) Nickerson who reside in Billerica.  He was raised in Billerica, attended Billerica schools, and the Billerica High School.

He began his career during high school and had become a close friend to many of his coworkers during his 35 years in the Shipping and Receiving Department of the Schneider Electric Company in North Andover.

Besides his family, he had a great love for the out doors and was considered an avid out doors man.  His love of hunting and fishing lured him to expeditions from Canada, Alaska, and the Great Lakes, to the Florida Keys, and many places in between.  He was a loyal member of the N.R.A.

Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by two sons, Dana A. Nickerson Jr., and his fiancé Gina Gentile, and Erik A. Nickerson and his fiancé Kristen (Bryan) all of Tewksbury; two beloved grandchildren, Shawn Nickerson and Taylor Nickerson both of Tewksbury; a brother, Dale Nickerson of Billerica; a sister, Dawn Botting and her husband Richard of Billerica; a sister-in-law, JeanMarie Conway and her husband Brent of Lowell; a brother-in-law, Joseph Yandle of Worcester; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and friends in his old neighborhood, Billerica Ave. in No. Billerica.

Visiting hours Friday, April 5, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, phone (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950.  His funeral will begin Saturday, April 6,  at 10:30 a.m.  from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass Saturday at 11:30 a.m.  in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury.  Interment will be private.  Flowers are welcome, but memorials to Merrimac Valley Hospice House, 360 North Ave., Haverhill, MA 01830, will be appreciated.  tewksburyfuneralhome.com
