Downed Trees, Power Outage Slow Snow Removal In Tewksbury

Meanwhile, with 8,226 customers still without power, the town has opened a warming center for people who want to warm up and charge devices.

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Department of Public Works Crews are battling fallen limbs and trees as they try to clear Tewksbury roadways after this week's storms. The uncleared roads are also slowing efforts of utility crews for National Grid, which has listed "assessing condition" under the estimated time column on its Website for when it will restore service to the 8,226 Tewksbury customers still without power.

"The DPW’s priority is to clear roads and allow access to utility crews. They will not respond to non-emergency tree work at this time," a notice on the town's Website said.

Earlier on Friday, National Grid said some counties wouldn't see power until at least midnight Saturday.
