Lorraine E. Bowden, 84, of Tewksbury

TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Lorraine E. (Lord) Bowden, R.N., age 84, a retired administrator at Tewksbury Hospital, died peacefully on Monday, May 2, at Blairehouse of Tewksbury, after suffering a Stroke in February. She was the beloved wife for 55 years of the late Stephen Edward Bowden Sr., who died in 2000.

She was born in Lawrence, a daughter of the late August and Eva (Caron) Lord Jr., and raised in Lawrence, where she graduated from Lawrence High School. After her marriage in 1953, they moved to Tewksbury to begin their family.

She graduated from St. John’s School of Nursing in Lowell, and worked at Tewksbury Hospital, where in 1990, she retired as the Assistant Director of Nursing.

She is survived by one son, Stephen E. Bowden Jr., L.P.N. of Tewksbury, with whom she had resided.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Graveside Memorial Service to be held Thursday, May 12, at 1 p.m. in Tewksbury Cemetery.
