Lowell Bartender, Aspiring Nurse Killed In Crash

Stephanie McLaughlin, a well-known Lowell bartender, was killed in a crash in New Hampshire.

WINCHESTER, NH — A well-known Lowell bartender and aspiring nurse was killed in a crash in New Hampshire this week. Stephanie McLaughlin was 28 years old.

Police said McLaughlin was driving on Route 10 in Winchester Thursday morning when she crashed into a tree, causing her vehicle to erupt in flames, according to the Union Leader. The cause of the crash was under investigation.

McLaughlin was a longtime bartender at the Athenian Corner Restaurant and recently decided to change careers and pursue nursing, her family wrote in her obituary. She was working toward her nursing certification at Mount Wachusetts Community College in Gardner.

"Stephanie ... loved spending time with her family and friends," her obituary reads. "She will be dearly missed by those who loved her."

Visiting hours are Tuesday at Tewksbury Funeral Home at 4 p.m. Her funeral is Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
