Merrimack Valley Woman Killed in Easter Sunday Shooting
Lawrence police have not released identifies of those involved.

LAWRENCE — A Lowell woman was killed and a Lawrence man injured in a shooting outside a Union Street restaurant Sunday night, only a block from a Catholic church that celebrated Easter Masses earlier in the day, the Eagle-Tribune reported.
The shooting occurred about 8 p.m. near the corner of Methuen and Union streets in a parking lot across from La Cava Restaurant, just down the street from Corpus Christi Parish, the newspaper reports.
Carrie Kimball-Monahan, spokeswoman for the Essex District Attorney’s Office,told theEagle-Tribune she could not confirm the identities of either victim. Both victims were Latinos in their early 20s, according to Lawrence Police Chief James Fitzpatrick. He said the unidentified male victim was from Lawrence and in stable condition late Sunday night.

A male suspect fled in a white sedan on Essex Street. His name was not released.
Two cars parked in the lot across from La Cava were hit by stray bullets. Fitzpatrick said the weapon used was likely either a 9 mm or .40-caliber handgun.

Fitzpatrick confirmed that began in the restaurant 30 minutes earlier led to the shooting.
