NH Man Indicted in Tewksbury Bank Robbery

NH man charged with unarmed robbery.

TEWKSBURY, MA — A 26-year-old New Hampshire man accused of robbing the TD Bank on Main Street in Tewksbury in December was indicted by a Middlesex grand jury, according to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.

Robert Costello, 26, of Manchester, N.H. was indicted on a charge of unarmed robbery.

The bank robbery occurred at the TD Bank shortly before 2 p.m. on Dec. 19, 2016, according to Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan.

In photos published by the police department, the suspect can be seen handing the teller a note before leaving the bank.

Tewksbury detectives and State Police were able to identify Costello and arrested him at 177 Salem Road in Tewksbury.

Police had also been searching for a woman who had been seen with the suspect in a nearby pharmacy, and that female had been identified and questioned.
