Over 100,000 Vaccinated By Lowell General Hospital
The hospital's mass vaccination program gave its 100,000th dose to a Newton resident Friday.

LOWELL, MA — Over 100,000 people have been vaccinated by Lowell General Hospital, the hospital said Friday.
The 100,000th dose was administered to Emily Church of Newton, who received her first Pfizer vaccine dose, according to a news release.
Lowell General was one of the first hospitals in the state to vaccinate staff on Dec. 15, 2020, and it opened a regional vaccination site at Cross River Center in Lowell on Feb. 18.

The site ramped up to 3,000 doses per day and is staffed by Lowell General employees and over 200 volunteers, the hospital said.
“This milestone is a credit to the way the Greater Lowell community comes together in a time of crisis,” said Lowell General CEO Jody White. “This successful vaccination effort isn’t possible without the support of our volunteers and the incredible commitment of our staff.”

"Church, who is originally from Pepperell and was born at Lowell General, said she came to the Lowell vaccination site on the recommendation of her mother who received her shot there," the hospital said.
Nurse Alison Faulhaber, who gave the hospital's first vaccine dose in December, also administered the 100,000th.
