Police Warn of Scammers Exploiting Death of Officer Tarentino
Police departments have warned their residents about scammers who are calling to get donations for the Fallen Officers Fund.

TEWKSBURY, MA - Charlton Police, as well as departments across the state, are warning residents someone is trying to scam victims into donating to the "Fallen Officers Fund," using the recent tragedy of Auburn Officer Ronald Tarentino to solicit donations.
Officer Tarentino was killed in the line of duty last Sunday.

"There is no such legitimate organization," announced the Charlton Police Department. "These lecherous people are pulling on the heartstrings of the community in order to line their pockets."
The calls are coming from 413-239-2393 and "trying to use recent tragedies to get rich."

Police suggest that If you wish to donate to such a cause, call your local police department for the names of legitimate organizations.
The Chicopee Department also issued a similar warning, stating that callers were trying to scam money in the name of Officer Tarentino. The calls in the Chicopee area are coming from 413-239-2393. Officer Michael Wilk said to immediately hang up should you receive one of these calls.
