Girls Track
Redmen claim three state titles at Division 2 State Relays
Freshmen Ashley Colarusso and Jess Ripley and senior Devin Kelly are Tewksbury High's newest State Champs!

The trio combined to take first place in the pole vault at the recent Division 2 State Relays. As a team, Tewksbury High placed second with 46 points. Central Catholic placed first overall with 50 points.
The team of Colarusso, Ripley and Kelly combind for a total distance of 22 feet 6 inches.

The javeline team of Chelsee Porcaro, Molly Robertson, Sara Semenza and the sprint medley relay team of Sara Semenza , Jen Schultz , Christine Baptiste, and Kelly Quigley also earned state championships at the Division 2 State Relays.
Tewksbury Placers at State Class Relays (Div. 2):
- Pole Vault: 1st Place, 22’6” Devin Kelly (8’), Jess Ripley (7’6”), Ashley Colarusso (7’)
- Shot Put: 4th Place, Chelsee Porcaro, Erin Davis, and Bridget Blair
- Triple Jump: 5th Place, 95’10” Kelly Quigley (33’6”), Olivia Gallella (31’0”), Jess Ripley (31’4”)
- Javelin: 1st Place 299’ Chelsee Porcaro (128’), Molly Robertson (94’), Sara Semenza (77’)
- Shuttle Hurdles: 2nd Place, 1:06.43 (School Record) Ashley Callahan, Jess Amedee, Kelly Quigley, Lindsey Monti
- Sprint Medley Relay (800-200-200-400): 1st Place 4:14.39 Sara Semenza (2:19.3), Jen Schultz (26.9), Christine Baptiste (26.9), Kelly Quigley (60.2)
- Distance Medley Relay (1200-400-800-1600): 6th Place, 12:57.23 (School Record) Sara Semenza (2:55), Jen Schultz (64.8), Rebecca Davies (2:34.7), Rachel Eatherton (5:23)
“I don’t think this was expected of us this year, but our kids have quietly put together some excellent practices. So this was a pleasant surprise, but they earned it," said girls track Coach John Byrnes. "The vaulters got us off to a great start on Thursday. Ashley Colarusso and Jess Ripley are new to the event, but Devin Kelly’s done a great job helping them out, and it was evident at the meet. They looked very professional out there.”
Boys Track
Redmen rack up 33.2 points at Division 2 State Relays
- Pole Vault 3rd place: Andrew Nguyen, Mike Charbonneau, Ryan Bednarek. "What's great about these three is that they are all underclassmen, they will only improve," said Coach Bill Meuse. "Mike and Ryan both cleared their personal best with 9 foot jumps. Andrew Nguyen cleared 10 feet, with a team total of 28'0"."
- Javelin 6th place (389'1"): John Fiorello, Jake Oliveira, Joe Poli. Poli had his best throw of his career with a 125' toss.
- Shot Put 3rd place (132'6.25"): John Fiorello, Steve DeFrancesco, Christian Taylor.
- High Jump, tied for 6th Place (16-6): Kevin Jones, Joe Poli, Eddie Matovu.
- Shuttle Hurdles 3rd place (1:05.61): Eddie Matovu, Andrew Nguyen, Cory Cataldo, Kevin Jones.
- Distance Medley Relay 3rd place (11:01.63): Brian Amaral, Roy Felix, Nick Souza, Cory Cataldo.
- Sprint Medley Relay 2nd Place (School Record! Time (3:36.53): Cory Thomas, Ryan Hartnett, Roy Felix, Cory Cataldo.
"I'm all kinds of fired up for these four seniors. They have put in countless hours for this program and to be able to come into a state meet and break the school record is really exciting," said Meuse. "I'm extremely happy for Ryan Hartnett, he is one kid that hasn't had the individual success that the others on this relay team has had but he deserves this just as much. No one has more heart then Ryan Hartnett!"
Girls Tennis
Chelmsford 5, Tewksbury 0
Softball
Tewksbury 8, North Andover 2
Brooke Hardy cracked a home run and drove in a pair of runs to lead the Redmen to an 8-2 romp. Hardy finished the game with three hits to pace the Tewksbury offense.
Anna Sessa also homered and doubled for the Redmen, while Sam LaFerriere ripped a double,
Shannon McLaughlin went five innings in the circle to record the victory. He allowed just one run on two hits, while striking out 10. Freshman Haley Dobins handled mop-up duty.
With the win, Tewksbury improved to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in the MVC.
Boys Lacrosse
Tewksbury 14, Lowell 6
The white-hot boys lacrosse team continued its outstanding play this season with a 15-6 rout of Lowell High.
Zach Jacobs notched the hat trick to pace abalanced attack for the Redmen. Johnny Aylward added a apir of goals. Scott Paterello and Joe DiRusso also tallied for the winner. Mike Brawley made eight saves in net.
With the win, Tewksbury improved to 6-3 overall.
