Scam Alert: Tewksbury Police Warn Of Amazon, Apple Impersonators
Scammers will call from Lowell or Tewksbury numbers and claim to be from major companies, the department said.
TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury police recently warned of scammers impersonating major companies, reporting a recent "barrage of scam calls."
The scammers have phone numbers that appear to be in Tewksbury or Lowell and claim to be from Apple and Amazon, the department said in a Facebook post Wednesday.
In scams like this, victims are often asked for their personal information or for payments to resolve account issues.

"Legitimate businesses will NOT call asking for sensitive personal information or payment by gift card," the department noted. "Best advice: hang up!"
