Selectmen To Discuss Lifting Tewksbury State Of Emergency
Gov. Charlie Baker plans to lift the statewide emergency on June 15.

TEWKSBURY, MA — The Tewksbury selectmen will discuss lifting the town's state of emergency Tuesday, according to the board's agenda.
The town's state of emergency was declared March 20, 2020, 10 days after Gov. Charlie Baker declared one statewide.
The town banned personal care services as part of its state of emergency declaration 14 months ago, but that restriction has since been lifted amid statewide relaxation of restrictions.

Almost all restrictions are due to be lifted May 29, including the mask mandate and all business capacity and gathering restrictions. Baker said he will lift the Massachusetts state of emergency June 15.
The Board of Selectmen is due to meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. According to the agenda, "rescind the town's local state of emergency" will be discussed during the new business section of the meeting.

Statewide and local coronavirus cases have plummeted amid a successful vaccination drive. Over 60 percent of the state and town population is at least partially vaccinated, with nearly half of Tewksbury residents fully vaccinated.
Tewksbury's two-week average positive test rate fell to 1.71 percent in May 13 town-by-town report.
