Shawsheen Street In Tewksbury Could Reopen On Tuesday
The road has been closed for six weeks as crews worked to flood-proof it.

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Shawsheen Street, which has been closed for more than a month as crews work on the road and Main Street, could reopen as soon as Tuesday night, according to social media posts by the Tewksbury Police Department. The fingers-crossed emojis in the posts signal that that goal is weather- and work schedule-dependent, but the post was greeted as good news by Tewksbury residents and drivers.
Shawsheen Street between Main Street and Diane Drive has been closed since July 9 as crews conducted flood-proofing work. A Tuesday reopening one day past the "six" in the 4-6 weeks officials had originally estimated the project to take.
More information about the project is available online or by contacting Andrew Stack, Project Manager at (978) 640-4440 x256 or astack@tewksbury-ma.gov.
