Students Read 4,000 Books, Assistant Principal Devours Green Eggs and Ham

Dewing Assistant Principal Jan Fuller makes good on promise after students easily surpass reading goals.

Assistant Principal Jan Fuller had made a challenge to the 600-plus students of the Dewing Elementary School -- if they could read at least 2,000 books, she would devour a plate of Green Eggs and Ham.

The students went well above and beyond the 2,000 book mark, reading 4,065 books during the challenge.

Last month, Fuller made good on the promise. After she and other Dewing staffers read the Dr. Seuss classic of the same name, Fuller dug in for a lunch of Green Eggs and Ham. She even got some help from one of the Dewing Kindergarten students.
