Suspects from Tewksbury and North Andover face a judge to determine if they are a "danger.''

LOWELL, MA -- Two men, one of which was cleared of a 2012 fatal stabbing, will face a judge on Thursday for a dangerousness hearing after they were accused of severely beating a man with a gun and baseball bat outside a Tewksbury home on Saturday.

Aaron Russo, 29, of Tewksbury, and Michael Wilson, 39, of North Andover, were both held without bail in Lowell District Court on Monday after pleading not guilty to armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon

The judge scheduled both men for a dangerousness hearing on Thursday to determine if there are no conditions of bail that will keep the 30-year-old victim or the public safe.

Tewksbury police broadcast information about Russo and Wilson to the North Andover Police Department. An alert North Andover officer spotted Russo’s vehicle, stopped it and Russo was arrested.

The NEMLEC SWAT Team was called to help with Wilson's arrest, however he was arrested without incident at his home.

As a result of a search warrant obtained for Wilson's home, North Andover police are charging Wilson with possession of a large capacity feeding device, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a dangerous weapon (double edged knife), possession with the intent to distribute class e (steroids), possession of a class b substance (oxycodone) and possession of a class b substance (buprenorphine).

In the 2012 incident, family members of Timothy Lewis, 34, of Chelmsford identified Russo as the man who fatally stabbed Lewis during a fight inside a laundry room at 105 Felker St., in Lowell, on Feb. 7, 2012. An investigation conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney's Office ruled that Russo fatally stabbed Lewis in self defense, The Sun reported. No charges were filed in the case.
