SWAT Team Arrests Man At Tewksbury Hotel
The Lowell man had an arrest warrant with charges including assault and battery and threats to commit a crime.
TEWKSBURY, MA — A SWAT team arrested a Lowell man at a Tewksbury hotel Sunday on multiple warrants, Tewksbury police said.
Police learned that Brandon Mucci, 21 of Lowell, had an arrest warrant for assault and battery, threat to commit a crime, larceny under $1,200 and trespassing and that he was staying at the town's Motel 6.
According to the police, when officers went to Mucci's room he locked the door and refused to cme out.

"Multiple attempts were made to Mucci to surrender in an attempt to de-escalate the situation, however Mucci refused to comply," the police said. "It was also learned that Mucci was in possession of a knife and that a second person was in the room with him."
Mucci refused to throw the weapon out of the room, the police said, and said that he would harm himself.

After attempting to convince him to surrender, the police called the regional SWAT team.
The SWAT team arrested Mucci.
In addition to the outstanding warrant, Mucci was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon.
He was held without bail and is due to be arraigned in Lowell District Court Tuesday.
All people are considered innocent until proven guilty.
