Tewksbury Coronavirus Test Rate Drops Below 2%

Tewksbury's two-week case count and test rate both fell dramatically according to the latest state report.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury's coronavirus test rate and case count both fell dramatically over the last week according to the latest town-by-town report released by the state Thursday.

The town's two-week positive test rate fell to 1.63 percent, from 2.98 percent last week. The two-week case count fell from 126 to 61.

The town has had 2,839 total cases, according to the state.

Statewide, just 19 cities and towns were labeled high-risk for the coronavirus in Thursday's report, down from 28 last week.

There were 21.3 average daily cases per 100,000 residents of the state over the last two weeks, down from 23.3 in last week's report.

The commonwealth reported 1,410 coronavirus cases and 42 deaths Thursday.
