Tewksbury Coronavirus Test Rate Rises Slightly To 3.36%

The town's positive test rate and case count reversed their multi-week decline, ticking back up in the latest state report.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury's two-week average positive coronavirus test rate rose slightly to 3.36 percent, according to the latest town-by-town report from the state released Thursday.

The test rate was 3.16 percent in last week's report.

The town reported 153 coronavirus cases in the last two weeks, or 35.5 daily cases per 100,000 residents. Last week the town reported 138 cases in an equivalent period.

Forty-four cities and towns dropped out of the high-risk category in Thursdays report, as a dramatic recent fall in cases continued.

The seven-day average positive test rate for the state fell to 2.13 percent, the lowest level since early Nov. Statewide case counts, hospitalizations and deaths also all fell over the last week.

There were 1,803 new confirmed cases and 61 deaths Thursday.
