UPDATE: Car Strikes Tewksbury Fire Engine

Minor injuries were reported.

TEWKSBURY - A firefighter suffered a minor injury when a driver lost control of a car on North Street this morning and slid into a Tewksbury fire truck, according to Tewksbury Fire Chief Michael Hazel.

The firefighter driving the fire truck saw the car coming and reduced the speed of the fire engine to almost a stop, he said. The car slid sideways, crossed the double-yellow line and hit the fire engine, he said.

The fire engine did not leave its lane of travel and was not able to move any further off the road to avoid the crash.
