Tewksbury Man Airlifted From Stoneham Rollover

Police said the 29-year-old driver was ejected from the vehicle after it struck the guardrail.

Massachusetts State Police said that a Tewksbury man was airlifted from a Stoneham crash after his vehicle rolled over early Friday morning.

Police said in a Friday press release that the man suffered serious injuries when his van rolled over on the northbound side of Route 93 in Stoneham.

Trooper Peter Bien-Aime’s preliminary investigation indicates that the 29-year-old man was driving a 2008 Ford Ecovan in the left lane when he lost control and swerved to the right across four lanes.

At that point police said the van struckt the guardrail, flipped over and came to rest in a wooded area.

The Tewksbury man was ejected from the van, and police said it appears he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

A medical helicopter was called to the scene and transported the driver to an area hospital.

The accident remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police, Troop A.
