Tewksbury Planning Major Road Work to Begin April 24.
Significant detours expected. Detour signs will be in place.

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Due to transportation improvements on East and Maple streets, starting on April 24 traffic exiting Interstate-93 will be diverted down Shawsheen Street to Main Street (Route 28) for three miles and then from Main Street to East Street for two miles, according to the Tewksbury Department of Public Works.
Traffic coming from Interstate Interstate- 495 will be diverted down Main Street to Shawsheen Street for 11 miles and then from Shawsheen Street to East Street for just under three miles.
Detour signs will be in place.

The proposed work will consists of 4,200 feet of roadway improvements. Residents living at 630 East St to 875 East St. will be impacted.
