Tewksbury Police Arrest Man Accused of Storage-Unit Thefts
Police are asking people to notify them of stolen items.

TEWKSBURY - Tewksbury police have charged a 30-year- old Leicester man with receiving stolen property after detectives found numerous items in his storage unit that were allegedly stolen from other storage units.
On March 25 Tewksbury Police Department arrested Peter Ortiz, 30 of 20 Warren St., Leicester and charged him with receiving stolen property over $250, a subsequent offense.
Detectives have been conducting an ongoing investigation into six storage unit thefts at Simply Self Storage, located at 470 Main Street over the past several months, according to police.

The investigation led them to a storage unit located at Simply Self Storage which belonged to Ortiz. A search warrant was executed and numerous amounts of property were recovered.
This is an ongoing investigation as we attempt to identify the owners of the recovered property.

Ortiz is due to be arraigned on March 27 at Lowell District Court and additional charges are pending.
