Tewksbury Police Arrest Man, Charge With Fentanyl Trafficking

Two other men were arrested and charged with fentanyl possession.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury police arrested a Chelsea man and charged him with fentanyl trafficking Friday, the department said.

Pablo Gonzalez, 24 of Chelsea, was charged with trafficking more than 10 grams of fentanyl, distribution of fentanyl, possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, possession of buprenorphine-naloxone and being a fugitive from justice.

The department also arrested two men for fentanyl possession; police said the two men had bought the drug from the Chelsea man.

According to the police narrative, detectives saw Doug Duchesne, 28 of Tyngsboro, and Jesse Shirk, 27 of Hudson, New Hampshire, "sitting in their vehicle behaving in a suspicious manner."

Police found fentanyl on Duchesne and Shirk and arrested and charged them with fentanyl possession.

Patch has reached out to Tewksbury Police Chief Ryan Columbus for additional information on the detectives' interaction with Duchesne and Shirk and will update this story when we hear back.

"Further investigation revealed that Gonzalez had distributed the fentanyl to Duchesne and Shirk.," the police said. "Detectives went to room #413 at the Residence Inn, 1775 Andover Street, Tewksbury, MA where Gonzalez was staying."

Police found over 60 grams of fentanyl in the room, according to the news release.

Duchesne and Shirk were released on $40 cash bail and Gonzales was held. All three were due to be arraigned at Lowell District Court Monday.

All people are considered innocent until proven guilty.
