Tewksbury Police Arrest Man With Lowell Armed Robbery Warrant

A 38-year-old Dracut man was arrested at the Tewksbury Motel 6 Saturday.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury police arrested Saturday a Dracut man who had an active arrest warrant for armed robbery in Lowell.

Tewksbury police were alerted by Lowell police to be on the lookout for Joseph Kitchen, 38, of Dracut and the car he was driving, Saturday. They found the car in the Motel 6 parking lot and learned that Kitchen was staying at the motel.

Tewksbury police arrested Kitchen without incident, the department said. He was charged with possession of Xanax, a class E substance, and destruction of evidence. He had an outstanding warrant for armed robbery with a firearm and home invasion stemming from a Lowell incident.

Kitchen was due to be arraigned in Lowell Monday.

Motel 6 staff cooperated with the police, who used the motel's surveillance system, the police said.
