Tewksbury Police Arrest New Hampshire Man After Car Chase
A 26-year-old Hampton man was charged with theft and multiple driving violations.
TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury police arrested a New Hampshire man Wednesday after a car chase, the department said.
Abraham Scully, 26 of Hampton, New Hampshire, was charged with theft of over $1,200 and driving violations including failing to stop for police, negligent driving, driving with a suspended license, marked lane violation and speeding.
Police were called to the Home Depot, 95 Main Street, for a reported theft, the department said. According to the report, the suspect had left the store and begun to flee.

On the police's arrival, witnesses pointed out the suspect's car, police said.
The driver ignored police attempts to get him to stop, and a chase took place on Route 495 north until the driver was blocked by a tractor-trailer, police said.

He then got out of the car, according to the police narrative. When police approached him, he got back in the car and accelerated away up to 85 miles per hour, weaving through traffic, police said.
The pursuit was called off, but state police helped Tewksbury police stop the car soon after, the department said.
Tewksbury police arrested and charged Scully.
He was due to be arraigned at Lowell District Court on Thursday.
All people are considered innocent until proven guilty.
