How To Land A Job In Today's Market with the Boston Globe's 'Job Doc' (*RR)

Join the Boston Globe’s “Job Doc” Patricia Hunt Sinacole for her talk, “A Practical Guide To Landing A Job In Today’s Employment Market.” This interactive session will be packed with information to help you become more productive, including: the use/misuse of social media in a search; networking tips; a job hunter’s elevator speech, resumes and references; and job search statistics. Patricia is the CEO and Founder of First Beacon Group, a HR consulting firm.

Author Visit: Boston Strong with Dave Wedge (*RR)

Author Dave Wedge will discuss his book, Boston Strong: A City's Triumph Over Tragedy, the the definitive inside look at the Boston Marathon bombings with a unique, Boston-based account of the events that riveted the world. Wedge spent 14 years as an investigative reporter at the Boston Herald and now writes for VICE, Esquire, and Newsweek. Q&A and book selling & signing after the event for those interested.
How To Download Free Magazines with Zinio (*RR)

Become a library power user! Learn how to download free magazines via Zinio, a free online service offered to Tewksbury residents through the Boston Public Library. Demonstrations, videos, handouts and Q&A will be included. Please note this is NOT a hands-on session, but participants will leave ready to set up an account and start using Zinio on their own.
One-Woman Play: Elizabeth Blackwell, 1st American Woman Doctor (*RR)

Author Lynn Eckhert, MD, MPH, DrPH, will give a dramatic reading of her one-act play, “A Lady Alone: Elizabeth Blackwell, First American Woman Doctor.” The play, which has been performed more than 50 times around the country to enthusiastic reviews, highlights the trials and tribulations of women in medicine in the 1800s. A Q&A will follow the event. Admission is free, but donations to the Public Health Museum are welcomed. This event is part of the Public Health Museum's lineup of Public Health Week programs.
Dinner & A Movie: Patriots Day (*RR)

Enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood's newest DVD releases -- Patriots Day, a drama starring Mark Wahlberg, Kevin Bacon, John Goodman, Michelle Monaghan, and J.K. Simmons.
The story of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the aftermath, which included the city-wide manhunt to find the terrorists responsible. Rated R. 133 minutes. 80% positive critics rating. Doors will open at 7pm. Pizza will be served from 7pm to 7:30pm. A $2 donation is suggested. The film will begin at 7:30pm. Can’t make it at 7:30pm? The film will also be screened earlier in the day at 10:30am.
An Afternoon with Doug ‘VB’ Goudie (*RR)

Author Doug "VB" Goudie will discuss his brand new book, ACK in Ashes: Nantucket's Great Fire of 1846. Goudie has spent much of his career in talk radio in Boston, first as a sidekick on the Howie Carr Show and now as a host on the Boston.com Morning Show on WRKO. He also spent eleven plus years in television as a commentator on the Fox 25 Morning News show. Q&A and book selling & signing after the event for those interested.

Story Time Stations

Join us for story plus playtime! Each month features a different classic tale which we will read, then families are free to move as they would like among several different stations that include crafts, math, science, gross or fine motor skills and more to have fun with based on the story. We'll clean up and come all back together at the end for one more activity together. For ages 3 to 6. Older or younger siblings are always welcome!
Pajamarama Story Time

Come listen to stories, sing songs, and do some movement at this special evening story time! Wear your pajamas if you'd like to! This is a drop in story time. For ages 3 to 7.
Wiggle Time

Join Miss Noelle for some early literacy fun, including stories, movement, songs, fingerplays, instruments, and more! For toddlers ages 18 months to 35 months. Space is limited. The 11am session is a repeat of the earlier session.
