Tewksbury Schools Closed Thursday, No Power Until Late Friday
More than 10,000 Tewksbury customers are without power, and National Grid says it may be late Friday before it is restored

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Tewksbury Public Schools will be closed all day Thursday. Meanwhile, National Grid updated estimates of restoring power service to the town, saying it expects power to be restored by 11:45 pm on Friday. The utility said 10,783 of its 12,947 customers in Tewksbury had lost electricity.
The town does not typically declare snow emergencies, as it bans on-street parking between the hours of midnight and 6 am between November 1 and April 1 and at any time when snow or icy conditions are present to make sure it can clear snow from roadways. Vehicles that violate the winter parking ban will be ticketed and towed by the Police Department at the owner's expense.
Questions regarding parking restrictions should be referred to either the Town Clerk's Office at (978) 640-4355 or to the Police Department at (978) 640-4381, Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
