Tewksbury: Still No Vaccines From The State

The town has been requesting vaccines for phase two since it began, it said, with no success so far.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury has still not received vaccine doses for Phase 2 vaccinations of residents 75 and older, the town said Friday.

Town officials have been asking for doses since the phase began, but have not received any, according to the announcement.

Town Manager Richard Montuori told the Board of Selectmen Tuesday that the town was told it would receive just 40 doses for its first allotment, but they had not arrived and town officials were not told when they would arrive.

After the initial 40 doses, town officials are still expecting to get 100 per week, Montuori said. They have a plan to set up a clinic as soon as they get the doses.

The town encouraged eligible residents to continue to seek vaccination appointments through the state's vaccination site, mass.gov/covidvaccinemap, or the hotline, 2-1-1.
