Town Of Tewksbury Publishes Update About Main Street Water Main Abandonment Project

The Town apologizes for any inconvenience these water service interruptions cause to any affected residences and businesses.

On November 13, 2020, the Town’s contractor, MDR Construction will continue working on final abandonment of the old water main on Main Street between Colonial Drive and Victor Drive. This work will require temporary shutdowns of the Main Street water main in order to safely disconnect the old water main. Interruptions of water service will occur during these temporary shutdowns. Water service may be off from 8:00AM to 5:00PM on these dates. Although typically, the water service interruptions for similar work has been closer to 8:00AM to 2:30PM.

The following is a tentative schedule of when the water service shutdowns will occur along with the locations that are anticipated to experience interruptions in water service. This schedule is subject to change if there is inclement weather on any of these dates.

Please periodically check the Town’s website at https://www.tewksbury-ma.gov/ for updates to this schedule in the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances. On the “News” tab on the main page of the Town’s website, select “View All” to find the project page.
