Two Charged In Fatal September Lowell Shooting

A Lowell resident and a Dracut resident were charged with murder in connection with the death of Adrian Kimborowicz.

LOWELL, MA — Two people were arrested Wednesday night and charged with murder in connection with a September fatal shooting in Lowell, officials said Thursday.

Christian Lemay, 19 of Dracut, and Braedyn Baraby, 16 of Lowell, were charged, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Lowel Police Superintendent Kelly Richardson said.

On Sept. 26, Lowell police were sent to a Sutherland Street home for reported gunshots. Police found Adrian Kimborowicz with a gunshot wound.

Kimborowicz was conscious when police found him but died of his injuries Oct. 28 after more than a month in the hospital.

Investigators believe the two defendants had arranged to meet with the victim Sept. 26. When they arrived, they got out of their car and shot him, officials said.

Since September, police have been following leads and interviewing witnesses. Information leading to the two arrests Wednesday was obtained recently, the officials said.

Lemay and Baraby were arrested in their homes "without incident," officials said.

They were due to be arraigned Thursday in Lowell District Court.

Lemay had already been charged in this case with armed assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a loaded gun without a license, carrying a gun without a license, and firing a gun within 500 feet of a dwelling.

The investigation is ongoing.

All people are considered innocent until proven guilty.
