UBERDOC Launches Web-Based App That Instantly Connects Patients to Specialists

The new face of old fashioned medicine drives revenue sources outside of referrals, eliminating administrative hassles for specialists.

TEWKSBURY, MA - From the desk of UBERDOC: UBERDOC today announced the launch of its patient to specialist (P2S) web app, which instantly connects patients needing urgent medical care directly to a choice of specialists without requiring a referral, insurance paperwork, or having to wait many months for an appointment. With UBERDOC, patients are immediately granted direct access to a choice of the best specialists and instantly offered an accelerated appointment date with virtually no wait time. The platform also benefits specialists and private practice owners as UBERDOC generates immediate revenue sources outside the normal referral system – while also removing administrative hassles such as coding, billing, denials and collections. With board certified specialists in the areas of vascular surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, pediatric surgery and more, UBERDOC was founded by Dr. Paula Muto, a surgeon in solo private practice, to increase access and make it easier for patients to get the medical care they need.

“Today’s healthcare system is really all about what’s best for the insurance companies – or what’s best by the network. It’s never about the patient. I wanted to change that with UBERDOC - to put the patient back in charge, and help them get medical care when they need it,” said Dr. Paula Muto, Founder & CEO of UBERDOC. “For specialists like myself, UBERDOC also enables us to put our focus back on the care – instead of burdensome paperwork. I believe our web app provides tremendous value and convenience for both doctors and the patients.”

UBERDOC was created because the bureaucracy of today’s current overburdened healthcare system makes it impossible for a patient requiring urgent medical care to immediately get an appointment with the best specialist for their needs. With UBERDOC, the patient pays an up-front, transparent cash fee of $300 to see a specialist– and can invoke their insurance coverage if additional appointments or procedures are required. For specialists, there is no 3rd party payer submission, denied claims, contractual adjustments, or delay in payment as the cashless transaction is immediately processed following the patient's visit. All UBERDOCS must be board certified, currently in practice and be affiliated with a hospital. Specialists receive their first 90 days on the platform free of charge.
