TEWKSBURY JOB SEEKERS NETWORK - How To Ace The Phone Interview ON ZOOM

Monday, September 28, 2pm

Ever wonder why telephone interviews and informational interviews are so popular, and are tools that are frequently used by job seekers? In this presentation, we'll discuss how to successfully navigate and be successful using both the telephone interview and the informational interviews to get you close to a great offer. You'll learn why they're successful, how to use them as tools to find out more about an industry or company, and why these two types of interviewing are some of the key components of a successful job search. Led by Cynthia Wright, an experienced recruitment professional with 25 years of recruitment experience in both corporate and agency environments. Cynthia has interviewed and hired hundreds of candidates in disciplines such as: Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Sales, and Information Technology. For five years, she wrote a weekly career column, "The Wright Stuff" for The Telegraph (Nashua, NH) and is a contributing career expert for MyJobWave.com and "The Employment Times" in New England. Cynthia also wrote a syndicated column with Knight Ridder’s News2Use feature and continues to publish her columns nationally. She is the author of the book, "366 Tips for a Successful Job Search." I'm a Good Person! Isn't That Enough? ON ZOOM

Tuesday, September 29, 7pm

Using historical and media images, racial justice educator and writer, Debby Irving, examines how she used her white-skewed belief system to interpret the world around her. Socialized on a narrow worldview, Debby explores how she spent decades silently reaffirming harmful, archaic racial patterns instead of questioning the racial disparities and tensions she could see and feel. This program is designed to support white people in making the paradigm shift from ‘fixing’ and ‘helping’ those believed to be inferior, to focusing on internalized white superiority and its role in perpetuating racism at the individual, interpersonal, institutional, and cultural levels. This presentation includes pauses for reflection, dialog, and Q&A with an invited panel. Panelists include Bria Gadsen, Elizabeth Walther-Grant, and Mayara Reis, founders of Merrimack Valley Black & Brown Voices, and Amaryllis Lopez, Program Director of Elevated Thought. Register HERE.
