Be Styled Now Open at MarketStreet Lynnfield

Be Styled, specializing in blow drying and makeup services, opens Friday at MarketStreet Lynnfield. To celebrate its grand opening, the business reports that it is offering free blow dry and makeup applications on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 

Chief Creative Officer and founder Nicholas Penna Jr. told Lynnfield Patch in a conversation this week that MarketStreet is home to the third Be Styled location in Massachusetts. A partner also owns one in Knoxville, Tennessee, he added. 

"What we've done is take the fun part of going to a hair salon and made it into a business," said Penna, adding that clients often come early in the morning or before going out to do a typical 40-minute shampoo and blow dry, complete with about a 5 minute scalp massage. 

Penna also explained that salons like Be Styled are filling a new niche in the beauty industry, with visits that take less time than at traditional salons and which for some people may be as much a part of their weekly relaxation routines. 

Be Styled is also a young company, having opened its first location in Chestnut Hill only in April. Penna noted that he himself is a hair stylist by trade, with 22 years experience as well as several other salons that he owns. The idea for Be Styled, he explained, emerged from some highly successful "Blow Dry Nights" held previously at the other salons.
