Cookie Swaps Aren’t Just for Christmas
Wakefield Sons and Daughters of Italy Have Decided
The Lodge’s first-ever Easter Cookie Swap was both delicious and a lot of fun. There were 11 bakers swapping treats on Holy Saturday – the day before Easter. There were so many cookies, in fact, that plates were made up and delivered to members who haven’t been getting out during the pandemic. The event was deemed a success, and plans were discussed for repeating the swap next year.
Recipes for pizzelle, sesame cookies, two types of ricotta cookies, fig cookies, toto cookies, chocolate chip cookies and three types of biscotti have been compiled for members. Anyone who visits the Wakefield Lodge Facebook pagecan also access the recipes.
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 13th at 7:00 P.M. over Zoom. After the usual Lodge business, attendees are invited to view a showing of The Greatness of Tuscany. This film, presented by Dr. Rocky Ruggerio, will make you feel like you are on a one-hour tour of some of the most beautiful cities in Tuscany. He will share the history, architecture and current landscape. This event promises be a wonderful escape after a year of travel restrictions!
