Gas Up Again in MA, Highest in Seven Months
Gas prices in Massachusetts are up for the ninth straight week. Where are the lowest prices in Wakefield?

WAKEFIELD, MA — Gas prices rose again for the ninth straight week, hitting levels last seen at the end of last September.
According to a AAA May 2 survey of prices in the state, self-serve, regular unleaded averages $2.17 per gallon, which is five cents higher than the previous week, and also up 19 cents more than a month ago.
Still, Massachusetts' prices sit five cents below the national average, which is $2.22. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 43 cents higher at $2.60, said AAA.

The lowest price per gallon in Wakefield can be found for $2.11 at Prime Energy, Wakefield Gas, and Local. Find the lowest in your area by searching on GasBuddy.
“Relatively cheap gas prices are boosting driving demand, and 2016 remains poised to be a very strong year for both gasoline consumption and annual miles traveled,” said John Paul, AAA Northeast senior manager of traffic safety, in a statement. “As we move toward the summer driving season all eyes will focus on whether refiners can keep pace with the higher demand, and what impact that capability will have on prices at the pump.”

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 50 cents, from a low of $1.99 to a high of $2.49.
